ANTIQUE Camphor Glass and Sterling Silver Pendant on 20" Sterling Chain.

This delicate pendant is typical of the style of camphor glass pendants often described as "art deco" here on Etsy, but the style seems more Victorian or Edwardian. Regardless, it is beautifully preserved, with the camphor glass piece locked securely in place by sterling prongs, and the diamond setting pinned into place. The chain is labelled "sterling" as you can see in the micro photos, so I'm assuming the frame of the pendant is silver as well. The pendant is about an inch long and the chain is 20". Art deco would place this piece in the 1920's, but I'm certain I remember at one point Momma telling me that this was Grandma Heizel's, and she may have brought it with her from Germany. That would place is more like the late 1800's or very early 1900's, and would explain the more traditional styling. Regardless of the details, it's a beautiful piece and would make a great gift or a nice addition to your camphor glass collection.
