This Waterford Silver Plate Hostess Set is from the 1990's- the final vestiges of the golden era of department stores and their bridal registries. It was originally sold as a 5-piece set and included a butter spreader, which makes about as much sense to include in a set with a cake server as it does with a tomato server.
