I love the swirly shape of this pretty platter, made by the Warwick China Company of Wheeling, Ohio in the 1940's. Warwick was one of the first makers of vitrified china in the US, where most potteries were making crocks, bowls, and decorative ceramics. The platter is 14" wide by 11" across, and is in good condition for its age, with only one barely visible chip on the back side. There are a couple of spots where the glaze is beginning to crackle, and this well-loved platter has lost some of the 22k gold leaf trim over the years. This sweet piece would be a great addition to anyone's vintage botanical china collection!
