VINTAGE Ralph Lauren Silver Plated Soup Tureen

This silver plated soup tureen stands a stately 10.5" from table to top of handle, and measures almost 12" across from handle to handle. The stainless-steel insert measures about 8" across and holds 2 quarts. The vessel is deeper, allowing it to be filled with hot water to keep the contents warm. It's in excellent condition with no scratches, stains, or pitting, and it polishes beautifully. I believe it was manufactured for Ralph Lauren Home sometime during the 1990's, although it has absolutely no branding or marks anywhere on it. I got it in a sample sale when I worked in department store retailing, meaning it was presented to the silver buyer for consideration by the manufacturer, but never chosen to be part of the assortment. That could explain why there are no manufacturer marks; the company that made it would have marked it as whatever brand licensed the design. I remember this one being presented as Lauren, but in fact, it may never have been produced beyond the original samples. My internet search turned up nothing! It could make a stunning, and perhaps very rare, focal point for your silver-plate hollowware collection- or a practical addition to your dining room table!
