VINTAGE Hakata Urasaki Doll- The Bird Whisperer

Hakata Urasaki "Dolls" are actually exquisitely detailed ceramic sculptures made in Japan from the 1950's on. (Because I can't positively date this one I am simply listing it as "vintage"). In this example, I kind old man sits with a tiny bird perched on his right forefinger. The detail captured in the face, hands and toes is amazing! From the folds of the clothing to the seams in the waistcoat, every detail is captured with remarkable clarity. The kind expression on the man's face will make you smile! This piece is in excellent condition; the only flaw is shown in the last photo- there is a tiny chip on the man's cuff, near the place where the removable hand piece slides in. With the hand in place it's barely visible. He sits about 8.5 inches tall and would be a stunning addition to your Japandi collection! Ships free- will be packed to travel safely.
