VINTAGE CorningWare 3-piece Set- 2 Casseroles with Lid. Blue Cornflower
This 3-piece set includes a 1-1/2 qt dish, a 1-quart dish, and lid that fits both. Corningware was often sold in sets, and I sold many of them during my days in the Housewares department at Foley's! One of the reasons you see so many more dishes than lids is that often sets were sold like this- 2 (or more) different dishes that took the same lid (or lids.) Another is that stores like Foley's often offered "break-open" promotions- the manufacturer would have excess sets, so we bought them and broke them open to sell the pieces individually, at nice discounts. I was always amazed that we would end up with extra lids, meaning that people had bought the dishes without realizing that the lid came with it! Man, I wish I had all those extra lids today! This lid has a chip on the knob, which you can see in the photo, but the inner rim is completely intact. Gift Wrap Available!
