Rock Sharpe crystal was manufactured from the 1930s to the 1940s. The Rock Sharpe company was founded in 1914 by Alfred H. Sharpe in Buffalo, New York. The company didn't make its own glass, but instead decorated and cut crystal from blanks purchased from other companies. Rock Sharpe crystal was known for its high quality and intricate designs, often featuring a fern-like leaf pattern and floral motifs. The stemware was extremely popular in the 1930s and 1940s and was sold in major department stores across the country.

PLEASE NOTE- while the photos show 6 glasses, this is actually a set of 10. 4 glasses were camera shy and hid from me while I was photographing! They are all in perfect condition. Satisfaction guaranteed.

I'm virtually certain that this pattern is called Buttercup, and that these are 5" liquor/cocktail glasses. They are a little small to be wine glasses or champagne coups, even by the more demure standards of that era, but they are too large and flat to be cordials. I think they were intended for shaken spirit-forward cocktails, served up without ice, like a Manhattan or a Martini.

These glasses have been with Aunt Nen's wedding crystal since it came to Momma. Once it came to me, I realized that while the design on the bowls matches Aunt Nen's pattern, the stems do not. Her pattern is 3005, and the stems are cut in a geometric design. I think she must have bought these as barware, in order to serve shaken cocktails in something that went with her crystal.
