This curvy little pot and its tiny little partner have perpendicular handles and a fun shape that just screams 1950's! I believe that it is meant for serving hot chocolate... the smaller pitcher would have contained melted chocolate, and the larger on warm milk. the milk and chocolate are poured together into a cup to make hot chocolate. Or else it's a coffee set that's missing its sugar bowl. If anyone can set me straight I'd appreciate it!
The pot is about 10-1/2" tall with the hinged lid closed, and the pitcher is about 4-1/4" tall. there is a small dent near the bottom of the little pitcher that I've tried to highlight in one photo, but honestly it's pretty hard to see. There is some light scratching and pitting due to age, but I didn't want to polish down any further to avoid removing too much material.
The "MMM Spain" hallmark translates roughly to Madrid Metals Manufacturing and was commonly found on the company's mid-20th-century aluminum products, such as cream and sugar sets with trays. These items, while not highly valued in today's market, serve as collectibles representing mid-century Spanish metalwork.
Today, items bearing the "MMM Spain" hallmark are appreciated by collectors for their historical significance and as exemplars of mid-20th-century Spanish industrial design.
