VINTAGE Acrylic on Canvas- Magnolia Grandiflora in Full Bloom. Artis E. Caldwell.

I have no backstory on this painting other than it hung in Aunt Nen's living room as long as I can remember, in a hideous frame that I chucked years ago. Momma said that the artist, E. Caldwell, was a friend of Aunt Nen's, but that is all I know about her. I assume she lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana based on our location and the subject matter, but it could have been given to Aunt Nen when she lived in New Iberia or even overseas. Because I could not find any other information about the artist on Google, I would reckon this stretched canvas piece to be "folk art."
The colors are vivid, but not garish, and the flowers are excellent renditions, IMHO. The canvas is in excellent condition, and measures 16x 19. I'm pretty sure the medium is acrylic, but I'm not 100% sure of that.
