Before there was Tupperware or heaven forbid "disposable" food containers, there was Pyrex. These refrigerator sets are so useful for cooking, storing leftovers, reheating foods, and serving right from the dish. I have several that I inherited from Momma and I use them as much as she did!
Pyrex called these sets Model 500, and they consisted of 2 small 501 dishes with lids, a medium 502 dish, and large 503 dish, which held 1-1/2 quarts. This pattern is called Butterprint, and as far as I know the refrigerator set only came in turquoise on white opal. It was only made between 1957 and 1968, so it's definitely a mid-century classic. This set is completely intact, with all 8 pieces appearing to be original. Because I'm a stickler for full disclosure- I did notice a slight variance in the shade of turquoise from piece to piece; the large one looks a bit "greener" than some of the others. Perhaps it endured more use and washings? Regardless, they are all in great shape with no deterioration of the pattern, no chips or nicks anywhere, and no signs of dishwasher damage. you'll be proud to add these to your collection or give them as a useful and nostalgic gift!
