Club Cookware was a prominent brand during the early part of last century, mostly for their aluminum cookware and door-to-door sales model. I didn't realize they made glass cookware until I came across this piece. It's labelled "Club Glass- A Club Aluminum Product" and "Top-stove Cookware" with no capacity indicated, but it looks to be about 1-1/2 or 2 quarts. It's about 6" in diameter at the widest part, and about 7-1/2" tall with the lid on. The handle strap has been removed, cleaned, and replaced, and the handle is solid and in good shape, although somewhat diminutive. It requires a diffuser clip to work safely on an electric stove, so I'll add one to the package. Based on the long "neck," which is unusual for a saucepan, I suspect this may have been the bottom piece of a double boiler set?
When I was a kid that was an often-run commercial on TV for Lipton Soup where they made soup in a glass saucepan, and I thought it was SO cool to be able to see the food cooking. I always asked Momma why we didn't have any glass pots and pans, but she never really gave me an acceptable answer! Now I have one, and I'm ready to pass it along to you! Free US shipping!
