This cleverly designed carving board was a pretty common wedding or shower gift in mid-century America- Momma had one that stayed in the top of the pantry most of the year, only coming down during the holidays to hold her Thanksgiving turkey securely during slicing. The first Thanksgiving after she passed, I sure wish I had it when my prime rib slid off the platter and fell with a resounding thud onto the floor! Luckily I had mopped while it roasted- and we are family that believes in the 5-second rule!
It really is a great way to hold poultry, roasts, or hams for slicing, and makes it easier and safer to produce straight, even slices! When I first took it out of the box, I thought it was lopsided, but then I realized that's been done on purpose to drain the juices from the meat it into the well at the corner of the board.
This one has never been used- it's still in the box, and has no signs of knife marks or scratches of any kind. I've polished up the aluminum prongs a bit, which are easy to remove and replace for cleaning and storage, but other than that it's in mint condition. Box included! Ships free in the US.
